Becoming an Eligible Supplier
National Grid's customers and employees expect the highest quality of service in every aspect of our business. We require the same from our suppliers and believe quality, service and cost advantages can best be achieved when customers and suppliers work together. Understanding each other's needs and solving problems together develop increased success for all. 

National Grid's supplier registration and eligibility process seeks to develop long-term relationships with key suppliers who are committed to continuous improvement and to maintaining the highest standard of quality and service. Our suppliers must demonstrate a solid track record of excellent customer service, on time deliveries, and superior communication, ethics and technical expertise.
 
Companies that are competitive in the market place and meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to gain a share of National Grid's business. At the request of a Procurement Representative, registered suppliers may be asked to complete the eligibility process.

In order to be considered for any procurement business opportunities, we require all suppliers to register with National Grid.  The information to complete your registration is provided through this link.

The Supplier Eligibility process is open to suppliers only at the request of a National Grid Procurement Representative.   The representative will provide instructions for completing the required forms provided through this link.  Instructions will vary depending on supplier type and the goods and services they provide.

A Procurement Representative will advise new suppliers when they have been approved.  The next step is to fill out the enrollment forms so that a purchase order can be issued.  The required forms and documents for enrollment are provided through this link.

E-Invoicing
National Grid has partnered with Xign Corporation to administer a web-based solution that will combine Electronic Purchase Order Delivery, Invoice Submission, Electronic Payment & Remittance Receipt, and Invoice Status into one application.
  • Receive purchase orders, submit invoices, and get paid electronically without mail delays.
  • View current status on any invoice you submit electronically.
  • Real-time validation of invoices at submission to avoid exception delays.

Procurement Direct Payment Permits
National Grid has the authorization to pay use taxes directly to the tax authorities as required for goods and services. By clicking on the following link, you will be able to view and print the appropriate certificate for your records. Please note that we have separate permits for New York and Massachusetts. Also, do not include sales tax for goods and services delivered in the state of New Hampshire.
eSourcing
National Grid has implemented a new web based sourcing system called eSourcing.
  • The eSourcing application automates the existing Sourcing Process
  • This is the platform that National Grid supports for all contract renewals and requests contracts
  • It does not change what is done, but changes how it is done
  • The system will provide a consistent sourcing approach that will result in more of information received from your responses, resulting is faster decision making
  • There are no additional costs to your business. The system will enable a faster on contract decisions, provide a single point of contact for all questions and issues logical, centralized, online system to guide you through your responses
